Take a walk across a 150 years old wooden bridge (now refurbished) at Gartang gali that was was used as an old trading route with Tibet. Explore Nelong Valley. Visit Mukhwa which is the winter seat of Goddess Ganga. You also get to witness beautiful and old wooden houses of the locals. Mukhwa is also home to a sacred waterfall. Legend has it that during the Pandava’s exile, Arjuna had struck an arrow here to quench his thirst.

Trip Overview
The government of Uttarakhand is opening Gartang Gali and Nelong Valley for tourists.
Gartang Gali is located at an altitude of 11000ft above sea level. It was a 150m route built by the Pathans of Peshawar in the 17th century to enable a trading route for the locals with Tibet. Prior to 1962, various spices, wool etc were loaded on yaks and horses and transported to Tibet. In return, salt was brought over from Tibet.
The Jad Ganga river flows around 300ft below this route.
